SOC Lab description —-Designed to replicate the dynamics of a professional SOC, the lab enables students to participate in Capture-the-Flag (CTF) exercises, red team–blue team simulations, and integrated purple team workflows. It also supports learning activities across broader cybersecurity domains, including cyber threat intelligence, incident response, governance, risk, and compliance. Through this environment, students gain exposure to both the offensive and defensive dimensions of cybersecurity, strengthening technical proficiency, analytical thinking, and teamwork.

The lab features a dual-purpose, color-coded setup. Students assigned to red team stations simulate real-world threat actors by identifying vulnerabilities, executing controlled exploitation techniques, and testing attack paths. Students assigned to blue team stations act as defenders, using monitoring and detection tools to analyze logs, correlate alerts, and respond to incidents in real time. These coordinated exercises allow students to experience how cyberattacks are launched, detected, mitigated, and documented in operational settings.
