School of Multimedia and Arts (SoMA) Faculty Member Jaime Pacena II won the Best Director award at Cinemalaya 2024 for his work on the film ‘Kono Basho.’
SoMA alumna Jai Alano, the film’s Art Director, also received the Best Production Design award for ‘Kono Basho.’
In addition, SoMA Alumni PJ Cauman (VFX Artist) and SoMA Internship students Lianne Labayno, Jai Carianga, Precious Banjawan, Patrick Ramirez, Katrina Gonzales, and Franz Miranda (Graphic Designers), and Jannu Verona (3D Artist) also contributed to the film’s production.
The film ‘Kono Basho’ delves into the lives of two estranged sisters who reunite at their father’s funeral in Rikuzentakata, where they end up forging a bond to heal their personal wounds.”
