Literary || Passing Wind

Written by: Rochelle Macatangay

Passing wind

In shadowed realms of inner night, I came and sought,

For love as honey-sweet and gentle as the breeze,

In depths where the sunbeam’s ember was barely caught,

I wandered, astray, in the waves of stormy seas.

Wilted petals, I cried—grieved through my heart and soul,

The death of a dearly beloved I once know,

Beloved that was me, lost in time—I was whole,

Now wilting sorrowfully, unable to grow.

Yet in midst of gloom, the zephyr passed and whispered,

A notion that never crossed nor occurred to me,

In folly’s grasp, I sought and searched—my steps misled,

I ran and escaped the shadowed realms, I was free.

In vast grass-field, the sunbeam gleam—welcomingly,

Albeit, withered and maimed, I stood—showered with kiss,

Borne by the passing wind breeze, I flourished and see,

The flower I once was, now forever exists.
